Salesforce Spring ’24 release is here! It’s one of the three yearly updates that keep Salesforce leading in CRM. We’ve picked our top 5 features from this release that’ll boost our daily work and add a bit of magic.
1. Dynamic Forms & Actions Updates – AGAIN!
Salesforce is stepping up its game with a spotlight on Dynamic Forms & Actions enhancements. Why, you ask? They make customizing the UI super easy and user-friendly. It’s all about making things more straightforward for us.
1.1 Dynamic Forms with Related Object Fields
Before, to display information from a parent record on a child record, one had to create a formula field or implement a ‘Quick Update’ action, then integrate it into a Lightning Page.
With the Spring ’24 release, you can directly add a field from another record to your Lightning Page, as long as there’s an established lookup relationship between the primary record and the other record.
This enhancement simplifies data presentation and improves efficiency in record management.
1.2 Device-Specific Salesforce Dynamic Forms
Instead of applying these rules to larger sections or components, you can now set rules to show specific fields only on mobile or desktops. It makes it easier to customize what users see on different devices.
1.3 Dynamic Actions are also supported on mobile devices
Now, you can create more personalized experiences on record pages for mobile users. Use dynamic actions for standard objects and assign these actions directly in the Lightning App Builder, not the page layout. You can also set filters to decide when and where these actions appear for different users based on user fields, device types, and more.
1.4 Dynamic Forms: See Required Fields Immediately
When you use Dynamic Forms in Lightning Experience on a desktop, Salesforce now shows a message that fields with asterisks are required. This update applies to all editions. When you’re creating, editing, or cloning records, you’ll see the note “* = Required Information” at the top right, and it moves to the bottom right during inline editing.
2. Seller Home
Sales team members can now begin their day with a complete overview of their work. Seller Home summarizes opportunities, accounts, leads, contacts, and the day’s schedule. Users can set goals, monitor progress, see their to-do list, recently accessed records, and contact recommendations from Einstein all in one place.
Sales users can quickly access a lot of important information, such as:
- Overview of opportunities.
- Overview of accounts.
- Overview of leads.
- Overview of contacts.
- Weekly or monthly goals.
- Today’s events.
- To-do items.
- Recent records.
- Contact suggestions, which are identified by Einstein based on the user’s emails and events.

3. Salesforce Dashboards Enhancements
3.1 More Filters in Salesforce Dashboards
When it comes to Salesforce dashboards, you can now use up to 5 filters instead of just 3. This increase allows you to adapt the same dashboard for various teams, which saves time and effort. You won’t have to duplicate dashboards for different user groups anymore.
Before, if you used filters like Stage, Opportunity Owner, and Type on a dashboard, you couldn’t add a Region filter for all your teams. But now, you can include the Region filter and still have space for another one, like Created Date.
3.2 Images and Text in Dashboards
You can now enhance Lightning dashboards with rich text and images. This allows you to explain charts, detail metrics, and KPIs, and make tables clearer. Add your company logo, branding, flow diagrams, and embedded images—guide users with section titles, narrative text, and even animated GIFs. Dashboards now support up to 25 widgets, including 20 charts and tables, 2 images, and 25 rich text widgets.
3.3 Transfer Lightning Dashboard Ownership
If a user leaves your company, you can easily transfer their Lightning dashboards to another user, individually or in bulk. The new owner will be notified by email. Before, you had to clone or rebuild dashboards for a new owner.
In the past, when the owner of a key dashboard left the company, it was a hassle to clone and recreate the dashboard. Starting with Spring ‘24, you can simply transfer dashboard ownership. The new owner gains full control. If someone leaves your organization, you can transfer all their dashboards at once!
4. New Account Intelligence View
Previously, this feature was available only for Leads and Contacts. Now, it’s also available for Accounts.
In the Account Intelligence view, you can easily filter accounts (1) and view critical stats like the total value of open opportunities and their next close date (2). For more details on each record’s activities, opportunities, and cases, click the side panel icon (3) next to the record’s name. Within this side panel, switch between viewing activity data and related records (4) or log new activities (5), all without leaving the Intelligence view.
5. New Email Builders
5.1 Account Engagement (Pardot)
Important note: This feature will become available weeks after the Spring ’24 release.
If you’ve been using Pardot/Account Engagement for a while, you’re probably familiar with the shift from the Classic email builder to the Lightning email builder, which offers a more updated, modular approach to creating emails. Salesforce continues to improve, making bigger leaps with each update.
Why not try out version 3? Starting a few weeks after the release, Account Engagement marketers can use the ‘Edit in Builder’ option for any email content record. You can choose between the new and existing email builders each time you edit an email, so you’re not locked into the latest version.
5.2 Salesforce Service Cloud
A new, modern HTML 5 email editor is now available, featuring a responsive toolbar and an accessibility checker. Handling large recipient lists is easier, as you can now drag and drop or copy and paste email addresses into the list. This feature is accessible for Salesforce organizations with Email-to-Case enabled. Organizations created in Winter ‘24 or later will have the new editor as the default. For older organizations, this update can be enabled in Setup.
